Dry Misting Solutions
One technology. Three ways to protect your fresh food.
Shelf Life Inc.'s ultrasonic dry misting systems keep humidity at the right level wherever fresh food is displayed or stored. Each system is sized and configured for your space, whether that's a single produce case or an entire cold storage facility.
How Dry Misting Works
Ultrasonic atomization: High-frequency vibration turns water into an ultra-fine, dry-to-the-touch mist.
Humidity control: The system adds moisture to the air around your product, cutting down evaporation and dehydration.
No wet surfaces: Because the mist is so fine, it hydrates product without puddling, dripping or soaking labels and packaging.
Built for your space: Systems are configured by zone, case or room and run automatically.
Fresh Produce
Produce is mostly water, and it starts losing moisture as soon as it's picked. Dry misting keeps leafy greens, vegetables, herbs and fruit hydrated right on the display. Produce holds its crispness, color and weight longer, so you sell more and throw away less.
- Crisp, vibrant displays that attract shoppers
- Less wilting, trimming and culling
- Better weight retention on product sold by the pound
- Less labor spent re-working and re-stocking displays
Keep produce looking field-fresh from delivery to checkout.
Fresh Meat & Seafood
Meat and seafood are among the highest-value items in the store, and among the most sensitive to dry air. Controlled humidity helps limit surface drying, discoloration and weight loss, so cases stay appealing and product holds its value.
- Helps preserve natural color and appearance
- Reduces surface dehydration and weight loss
- Keeps seafood displays looking moist and fresh
- Protects margin on high-value product
Protect your premium products and your profits.
Cold Storage
Refrigeration naturally pulls moisture out of the air, and out of the product stored in it. Dry misting keeps cold rooms, coolers and backrooms at the right humidity, so product arrives on the sales floor in the same condition it came in.
- Maintains humidity in coolers and cold rooms
- Reduces moisture and weight loss during storage
- Extends usable storage life of fresh product
- Scalable from walk-in coolers to large facilities
Freshness protection that starts in the backroom.
